Cantagallo

Cantagallo

This season our Artisan Project is located at Lima, after doing some research we found Cantagallo, a little community formed 15 years ago by Shipibo families that came from the Amazonian Forest to look for better opportunities at the city. After all these years the community still maintains their ancient culture and traditions and support themselves mostly by selling their art and hand made products.

The collaboration between Ankura and Cantagallo gave birth to a beautiful collection of fine bracelets made entirely by Shipibo Artisans combining traditional Peruvian materials such as Achira Seed, Baby Silk fiber and Silver 950. The Collection is available at the top boutiques in Lima and all the profits will go to a health campaign for the Shipibo Kids of Cantagallo.

Caral

Caral

One of the key pieces of our Andean Mod collection is the Georgia Skirt, made entirely from hand woven fabric in the finest Pima Cotton. It is created in a waist hand loom by peruvian artisans in a very detailed process that can take up to 3 days of work.

This project takes place in Caral, a small village located north of Lima, also known for being home to the oldest city in America. It’s an honor for Ankura to work with this ancestral community and be able to help them develop into a brighter future by creating jobs with fair wages and recognition for the excellent work they do..
